Banff Trip Day 3: Calgary, Lake Louise, Rogers Pass

Early in the morning of Day 3 we left Canmore, AB and headed into Calgary. The weather was overcast when we left Canmore but turned sunny in the direction of Calgary. I haven't been to Calgary since I was 8 or 9 years old so I don't remember much of it but I do remember visiting the Calgary tower

Being in Calgary meant I got to visit Linda! It was great that we got to meet up again so soon after the end of Explore. She suggested we meet at Peter's Drive In which is literally a drive in burger and milkshake place with no indoor seats. I asked an elderly lady to help us take a photo but it didn't turn out so well since the tree shadows were on our faces.

I ordered a cheeseburger and a cocamoka cherry milkshake. The burger had 1.5 patties accompanied by chopped garlic and lots of ketchup. The milkshake was so thick it was probably made of cream instead of milk but it was oh-so-delicious. YUM. The ambiance of this place reminded me of Grease.

We left Calgary after lunch and headed back to Banff National Park because we missed Lake Louise yesterday. It was overcast when we arrived with a few drops of rain but still beautiful.

The interior lobby of Château Lake Louise is larger than Château Frontenac but the exterior of Château Frontenac is nicer.

We began our drive back toward BC in the evening staying in Salmon Arm, BC. We stopped at Rogers Pass on the way which had a small museum but I didn't go in.
