Explore Day 17: Quebec Parliament Building

It rained the entire day reminiscent of a Vancouver day. After class I joined a tour of the Quebec Parliament Building which is 125 years old. I wasn't able to take nice photos of the exterior with the rain but there was renovation on half the building anyways so the photos wouldn't have turned out great regardless.

We had to go through security check like in an airport and had to wait at least 45 minutes before our tour guide came by.

The tour was much shorter than expected. He only took us up two flights of stairs to the room where parliamentary proceedings take place.

The guide told us some information like where the journalists sit and how the rose flowers on the walls represent Britain. I asked him how many deputy members are female and he said about 30%, I'm curious as to how that number compares to Victoria's parliament member ratio.

All in all, it honestly wasn't a very interesting tour because we only got to see one room. At least now I can say I've been inside so I can check it off my "tourist things to do in Quebec" list.
